Governors

The Boroughbridge High School and King James’s School Federation Governing body is made up of 17 Governors :

  • 2 Parent Governors who are elected by parents and are parents (or carers ) of a child at the school. Their roles is to give a parent’s perspective on discussions and decisions - to speak as parents, not for parents
  • 1 Local Authority Governor who is appointed by the Governing Body
  • 1 Staff Governor
  • 2 Headteachers
  • 11 Co-opted Governors who are appointed by the Governing Body based on skills.

The standard term of office for a governor is four years.

The Chair and Vice Chair are elected annually (usually at the first meeting of the academic year).
