Gordon Ibbotson has been an
AST since 2002 and spent his first year working
with the Teacher Training Agency. His focus for
the year was in the field of Behaviour Management
and strong links have been forged with the Education
departments of York and Huddersfield Universities.
Since September 2003, Gordon has
run the Behaviour Unit at KJS and supported the
work of the Training School delivering Behaviour
Management courses as part of the EPS Programme.
Throughout 2004/5 Gordon worked
with the County Archive on the 'Reaching the Teacher'
project. This project aimed at opening up the
archive and making it more accessible for teachers.
The outcome of the project was a CD containing
many resources from the archive which can be used
in the classroom.
Alongside this project, Gordon worked
with the County Advisory Service delivering training
to Teaching Assistants in the theory of Behaviour
Management. This was spread across 10 conferences,
all over the county.
As a History specialist, Gordon
is working closely with the County Advisor on
various aspects of Teaching and Learning and has
supported several schools in the county. At the
moment he is in the midst of creating a network
of committed history teachers who meet termly
to discuss various issues.
As Citizenship Co-ordinator, Gordon
is working on Student Voice projects with both
North Yorkshire County Council and Knaresborough
Council. |
