2010: Crag Rat Blade
Loads has happened since the last diary entry and again massive apologies if you keep coming back to find the same old rubbish. Like everyone, we were struggling to find funding and without any money it was impossible to make plans. This has now been resolved and work has started on CR Blade again.
Massive thanks go to two new sponsors. The Yorkshire branch of the ImechE has given us some funding which will be used to provide a new brake and frame. Thanks to the ImechE members for doing this for us. Ringways Motor Group have also come on board and they have provided some much needed financial help as well as providing a van and fuel for testing and race days. Steve Russell the MD of Ringways came into school to have a look at CR Blade and a small feature on the car appears on the Ringways website at the moment www.ringways.co.uk/ford/
The materials have arrived in school for the new chassis and the brake components from Hope have been ordered. Unfortunately something has cropped up that will prevent us taking the car apart for the near future! This is a good thing and I will write in the diary what it is when I have firmer plans!
One event that I need to tell you about is the visit by Radio York to KJS. This was part of a feature the station was doing on electric powered vehicles. The reporter Matt Seymour came into school and interviewed Radar, Geek, Plonker, and Dipstick live on the morning show.
