KJS Green Week

5-9 July 2010

King James’s School goes Green!

Pupils and staff at King James’s have been doing their bit to help protect the environment and reduce CO2 emissions with a special Green Week at school.

Lessons had a Green theme, and students learnt how we all need to do are bit if we are to combat global warming.

Everyone in school was asked to make a pledge to say how they are going to do their bit to save the planet - even Mr Sugden got in on the act by cycling to school twice during the week.

The week ended on a high with a non-uniform day where everyone wore an item of green clothing. Money raised by the events will help fund green initiatives in school such as improved recycling facilities and the school’s green car. Crag Rat raced on Wednesday in the northern heat of the Greenpower Challenge at Croft Circuit, finishing in a creditable sixth position (out of 30), achieving 78 miles.
