taster conferences

King James's School has now hosted 5 successful TDA Taster Conferences (Jan 2003, Oct 2004, Jan 2006, Feb 2007 & Feb 2008) with plans for a further 3 day Conference to be held in January/February 2009.

The Conferences provide a 'real' school experience for would-be teachers to find out whether teaching really is the career for them and delegate feedback from previous Conferences has been extremely positive in this respect.

The TDA insist that applicants for Taster Courses must not have already applied for Initial Teacher Training and should be interested in teaching a Government Secondary Priority subject (currently Maths, Science, Modern Foreign Languages, RE, Music, Design & Technology or ICT).

If you would like to be put on our mailing list for details of our next conference, please email your name, postal address and the subject you are interested in teaching to suewhite@king-james.n-yorks.sch.uk. We look forward to hearing from you.
